Homemade Chocolate Shards Recipe
These homemade chocolate shards are simple to make and ideal for snacking, topping cakes or desserts, or giving as a homemade gift.
Ingredients
- milk chocolate (50g)
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 15 minutes
Instructions
- Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
- Melt the dark and milk chocolates together in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Combine the sea salt and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
- Spread the chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in a thin layer.
- If desired, scatter the chopped nuts on top.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until the mixture is firm.
- Remove the chocolate from the fridge and shard it with your hands or a sharp knife.
